EOFY. Black Friday. Click Frenzy. Cyber Monday.
Every year it feels like the same thing.
Our inboxes fill with discounts.
Our social feeds become a sea of countdown timers.
SALE becomes the most popular four-letter word on the internet.
You'd be forgiven for expecting one from us too...
Why You'll Never See a Huge Lokal Folk Sale
While there's nothing wrong with brands choosing to participate, you won't see Lokal Folk running sales.
Because we've built Lokal Folk around a different idea.
We Don't Want To Sell You More Stuff
That might sound like a strange thing for a clothing brand to say.
But hear us out.
The fashion industry is built around constant consumption.
New trends.
New collections.
New colours.
New reasons to buy.
The message is often subtle, but it's there:
What you bought last season isn't enough.
You need something new.
We don't really believe that.
We Make Small Batches. On Purpose.
When we create a collection, we don't build it with the intention of discounting it later.
We price honestly from the get go.
We make small batches.
We aim to sell through them.
Then we make them again.
Because if something works, why should we convince you that it suddenly doesn't?
Our goal is to make products parents and kids genuinely love and get SO much wear from rather than constantly chasing the next thing.
Buy What You Love. Buy What You Need.
One of our favourite campaigns of all time came from Patagonia.
They famously ran an ad that simply said:
"Don't Buy This Jacket."
Not because they didn't want customers.
Because they wanted thoughtful customers.
Customers who stopped and asked themselves:
Do I actually need this?
Will I use this?
Will this improve my life?
We think that's a question worth asking.
Lokal Folk Is Made For The Long Haul
We don't believe in buying things simply because they're discounted.
We believe in buying things because your life is better with them in it.
Because they solve a problem.
Because they get worn.
Because they make life easier.
Because they earn their place in your kids wardrobe.
That's exactly how we think about our reversible pieces.
They're designed to be worn often.
Packed often.
Handed down.
Loved.
Not bought because a countdown timer told you to hurry.
So Will We Ever Have A Sale?
Probably not.
You'll never see us producing huge quantities just so we can slash prices later.
You'll never see us trying to create panic with endless discount cycles.
Instead, we'll keep focusing on what matters to us:
Making thoughtful clothes.
In small batches.
For families who believe in buying fewer, better things.
Buy what you love.
Buy what you need.
Wear it often.
The rest will take care of itself.
